[Vote for this site for Networld Top50] Thanks for stopping in! Your comments are most welcome and appreciated. You can either send your feedback privately to me (reports of HTML bugs, spelling corrections, etc. should probably go here) or sign the public guestbook. At present I am not using any sort of fancy Java/CGI automatic guestbook, just good ol' email and elbow grease. I don't expect to get a big enough deluge of submissions for this to be a problem, but I would love nothing better than to be proven wrong, so get those keyboards in gear!

I have been looking up nude camps, and a lot of them only show pics of naked women, and a lot of them are in sexual positions. I personally am more likely to take your site seriously because yours isn't a porn site in disguise.

My wife and I have been considering a visit to a naturist park or clothing optional beach. It's the way we prefer to live at home and it's natural for us.

My wife's questions of "does my body look good enough?" and my question of "what if something 'comes up' when I don't want it to?" were both answered in your Q&A section.

I think your site is comforting to those new to the lifestyle and I appreciate your efforts. Thank you.

My name is John. My wife, Susan, and I are currently exploring the arena of nude recreation with the intention of engaging in a few "guest visits." I have done this in the past and enjoyed it immensely. However, our first visit together will be Susan's first and, of course, we'd like to give her a chance to experience this and kind of feel things out. It's been very enlightening visiting your web page. Thank you!

I have two thoughs on the photo issue. First, those seeking purient gratification won't get much from non-erotic naturist photos. They'll quickly get bored and go on their way. Naturist photos show real people. Young, old, large, small, attractive, not so attractive, real, not what those people are generally looking for.

That leads me to my second thought. Showing REAL people being nude and comfortable can help people who may be hesitant to try naturism because they think only beautiful people participate.I think the positive value out weighs the negative. You can't let the ignorant and sad control our decisions.

I don't think every naturist site has to have photos. Some sites like yours can be informative and thought provoking, and povide links to other sites where peope can view photos that show the true face of naturism.

Anyway, that's my opinion.

Yes, I would like to see more photos. They are most appealing when seen during our gray and dreary winter months. What would also be great would be to be able to identify the locales, especially the beaches, where the photos were taken. It would with some other information, allow for plans to visit them. There are of course some guide books but a picture is worth ......

Do you know anything about the legalities surrounding photography in nude beaches in the US (particularly Florida)?

I was in a nude beach once, and was videotaping a panorama of the beach. Not like I was zooming in on anyone's privates mind you, just filming my friends, the surf, and the beach crowds in general. A guy later came up to me and told me politely that I should be careful because what I was doing was illegal, and I might get arrested or have a lifeguard confiscate my camera. I was shocked. It's not as if I was videotaping in a bathroom or through someone's bedroom window, for crying out loud. My understanding has always been that people are not legally entitled to privacy in public areas where there is no expectation of privacy. That's why we have to put up with all those intrusive surveillance cameras that are popping up all over the place. I figure the same principle gives me the right to use a camera in most any public place, nude beaches included.

Don't get me wrong. I would never want to offend anyone, and if someone asked me not to photograph them I would certainly respect their wishes. But if I'm on vacation in a public beach, nude or otherwise, I think I can legally photograph or videotape my surroundings for my own personal use. (I do realize I couldn't publish people's images without their written consent.)

Please let me know your thoughts on this, and if possible, provide any reference to legal info on this subject. Personal feelings aside, I certainly wouldn't want to find out the hard way that I'd broken any laws.

Thanks.

I agree with your idea of limiting or excluding the photos from the site. The lifestyle and social aspects are deeper rooted that the superficial and sometimes exploited pictures. It is so easy to transfer pictures from one site to the next, there can be no guarantee of the photos remaining where they are put.

Wise choice with regards to including photos.

Although not avid nudists, we find the occassional life in the nude very stimulating in mind and body. Being with others who feel the same way allows for a peace of mind and a new awareness of ones' self.

I feel pictures are very important even though we can not control what each person gains from viewing them. Once a true nudist, one usually views pictures of other nudists with an understanding and a shared feeling of freedom. We look at nudism as we look at a mother breast-feeding her young, both represent beauty and naturalism. We look at pictures of nudists as a window to wishing we were there and to remembering our own past joy.

Simply put, pictures of nudists are important for peace of mind and viewing with a mirror image of your own beliefs forget the fools who use them for other reasons. The only thing pictures of nudists and pornography have in comman is they both start with a P.

I feel that as long as the photos are in good taste, it's okay to have a few in a naturism oriented website.

I, myself, take very discreet photos of a few people who are nude, primarily at hot springs here in the Pacific Northwest and West Coast. I send the photos to those people via e-mail to those who wish to have photos of themselves for their own personal use.

Sydney Singer <iscd@gte.net>

I am Sydney Ross Singer, co-author of Dressed To Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras. I want to thank you for mentioning our book on your fine website. We have a sequel to Dressed To Kill, called Get It Off! Understanding the Cause of Breast Pain, Cysts, and Cancer, Illustrated with A Little Breast Play. It deals with the cultural issues of body image, breast obsession, Barbie, implants, and more, and I use a musical, without the music, to illustrate. We expect a performance of A Little Breast Play at a naturist gathering on the East coast in August. Would you like to review the book? If so, please provide an address where we may send a copy.

Also, you may be interested in our unique website, The Self-Study Center, for other lifestyle solutions to disease, as well as for the Breast Cancer Prevention Project. We'd love your feedback and support.

Happy Holidays,
Syd

[Syd's book Dressed to Kill is available through my Bookstore page. I am greatly looking forward to seeing the new title. The web site he mentions above focuses on disease prevention through simple alterations of lifestyle and daily habits. This, especially the idea that constrictive clothing is a contributing factor in many breast illnesses, harmonizes very well with naturism. Excess use of clothing may indeed be dangerous to your health! --JMF]

We like your website and would like to correspond on some ideas.

My wife Ro and I are new into nudism since last summer. Though we've been married over 25 years, I feel like a young guy introducing my beautiful (to me) naked wife to new people at a nudist resort. I get a certain pride introducing her to other guys and gals and saying "here is my wife RO" and she is standing there completely naked for all to see. She enjoys the freedom of being naked and enjoys me showing her off (when she is in the right mood). She sometimes is a little shyer and more standoffish.

She looks beautiful to me (and has gotten to meet many new people who think she is really cute also...inner person and outward appearance).

What a beautiful feeling of freedom (non sexual, but still very exciting) when you go to a resort and she is able to be naked with me with other nudists in the shower, walking down the hall way, in the hot tub.

We don't know if you married or dating and how you feel about your companion when you go. Is our outlook a common one. I feel comfortable with her talking and dancing with other guys at the resort. Everyone has always acted very respectfully of her.

Hello there. I remember Vassar as being in Cambridge. I spent the last three years of the 1970s at MIT, and mostly in and out of their ESG. A few of us practiced nudism and naturism on trips, most notably to MIT's Talbot House in Vermont. Years later, I learned that the swimming pool, close by ESG and a frequent night time visiting place, had nude hours for men and women in the 50s when communism was a big deal but nudism was not.

Good luck to you in the IV league community environment practicing body acceptance. Higher education can be quite disorienting to students and faculty alike. Nudism provides some grounding.

I enjoy seeing photos and I hope someday to meet some of those people who were nice enough to share themselves. (e.g. Happy Marti¾ see Bodyobjective.com) 4. There is no naturist outlet in this town (Wenatchee, Washington) and I miss having opportunities as I had in the past. The pictures help keep the dream alive. I am a strong advocate of naturism and trying to support it any way I can. 5. Thanks. ¾

I would like to see more photos showing people enjoying nude recreation. I think more people would feel more comfortable going to a nude beach, etc. if they could see some of the people who do so. Some may think that only people with perfect bodies enjoy naturism, or that only singles go to nude beaches or resorts. Photos of families together would also be very helpful to those who do not think families can be nude and enjoy activities in the nude. Thank you

I live in Australia and at the moment am a house bound nudist so I like looking at nudists photos and places to give me a lift when I can't get outside and enjoy feeling free. I don't think nudist photos should attract the wrong element as they usually are portraying people being entirely comfortable and casual and just enjoying life.

These are just my thoughts.

Keep happy.

James -

I visited your site and was very impressed! I have recently constructed a personal nudist site where I have articles about nudism. Some things I wrote, others are credited and/or linked to other sites. I am in the middle of designing a "Nudist Personal Homepages" links list and would like add a to link to your site. I won't list your site unless I get an affirmative answer from you.

The address of my site is:
http://vanudist.home.att.net

If you decide to go to the galleries, it will ask you for a password. It is [omitted]. It appears you are over 18 so that's why I'm including it in this message. <g> The reason for the password is that both my home ISP (Worldnet) and xoom, have real strict policies on "pronography*." While rational people wouldn't even remotely consider anything I have there as pronography*, we both know not everyone is rational. I live in the area where Pat Robertson claims his home, so you could say I'm a little gun-shy. I want people to understand what being a nudist is like and don't want to worry about some prudish busybody complaining about the "nasty pictures" and having them shut me down. To keep my nudist site separate from my home site, (my 16-year old daughter's dance-school friends visit from time to time) I picked xoom because it seemed to have the least restrictions without forcing banner ads.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time.

From your e-mail address I assume you must live in the Poughkeepsie, NY area. My wife and I live in the Town of Lagrange. Have you ever visited the nude area in the Mohonk Preserve? There is a pretty good mix of couples, singles and a few families there on most weekends. It's not the ocean but it's only a 40 minute ride from Pok verus the 2 plus hours it takes to get to Sandy Hook.

I think that is very helpful all those naturist people pictures. These photos contain people having fun and nude too. It doesn't matter with their bodies are thin like beauty patterns of the movies they are only having fun with their families. My wife and me enjoy all those photos. I'm a naturist since I was young, before I understand all the meaning of being nude among the people.

Hi there

I was just browsing on the net and found your page regarding Naturist Photos, and why you're not sure whether or not to have a gallery.

I would just like to say that when I decided, early this year, at the age of 43, to give it a go, it was because I came across the Smooth & Cut Naturists website while searching for "Singles Holidays". It was seeing the photos of naturist people happily showing their "whole being" for other naturists to see, which made me feel that I wanted to join in.

I also searched other websites in my hunger for more information and more of a feel for naturism. If none of the websites had had photos, I doubt I would ever have taken the plunge and become a naturist a short while later. I joined S&CN as I am a smoothie, and hadn't realised before that men also liked to be smoothies, so if John Hale hadn't put any photos on his website, I never would have known, and wouldn't have felt the urge to "come out", after nursing a secret desire since my teenage years. I am now Club Secretary, and have contributed a page on the site called "Female View" (that's me in the swimming pool), giving an account of my launch into naturism.

So in my case, the photos WERE helpful. You're always going to get people searching websites for nude photos just for titilation, but it would be a shame to deprive true naturists of the chance to see other like-minded people in their favourite setting.

Excellent site, James. Superb. As for photos, I think if you can find some GROUP photos of various activities.....pool, volleyball, beach scene, etc..... unposed ones, taken from a distance, where the SOCIAL aspect of nudism is the focus...I think those would be a nice addition and help to convey the main "idea" of nudism without serving as a masturbatory focus for any but the most desperate pervs!

I found your page searching for a report on Coventry and as luck would have it you were there with what I needed. We have been going up to Vermont from Philadelphia every summer for the last 15 years to stay at Forest City. As luck would have it this year we could not get away so I was interested in hearing how the new owners are managing.

You made a great report. The regulars that we knew over the years were all real nudists but the weather would drive them away very easily. In our case since, since we had to drive for 8 hours, we would stay naked in the rain, storms, cold no matter.

Hank was a great guy, always happy to take you out on a tour of the lake on his boat. He has been a fixture there all those years and it's good to know he still has his place in the sun.

The former owners the Fletchers were working hard at keeping things up and we're happy they finally got the opportunity to take their retirement. They kept that place safe for nudism all those years and I hope the new owners do as well.

Maybe we'll meet you there next year. Thanks. [Name omitted]

Seeing nude bodies is as much a part of being a naturist as being a nude body. Unless you confine the activity to your own residence or only practice in seclusion, you must be able to tolerate, if not enjoy(?), seeing other people nude and being seen nude by other people.

I enjoy people-watching whether or not they are wearing clothes. That doesn't mean I'm a perv. But I think an all over tan is much more attractive, becoming on a person, than goofy tan lines. Just like clothes:some look good on a person, some don't. And people-watching doesn't have to mean staring between a woman's legs or at her chest.

In addition, I live in an area of the country where it is not possible to participate in nude outdoor recreation most of the year, so I kind of live vicariously through the pictures. They make me feel like I'm participating and give me hope during the cold times for a warmer future.

That's my opinion.

Hi. Just thought i'd drop a line to say I picked up your link from the INA sight. It's always great to see more people getting actively involved in promoting our naturist way of life. As for your query on photo's, I enjoy checking out pictures of people and places. I'm pretty much a homebody with my oddball work schedule and all. My wife and I joined a local club recently, but I still don't get to experience as much of what life has to offer, as I would like. Surfing through naturist websights is a great way of seeing the world. I agree that they should be tasteful, candid shots of men, women and families enjoying themselves naturally, God knows there's enough pornography online!

Hi Nudist friend I definately think there is nothing wrong with photos and it promotes the nudist philosophy...people should not be ashamed of their bodies and look at micheangelo and his art ( david etc ) the body should be admired and art and photos are the way people can see.... I agree some people surf the net.... but i think seeing happy, natural people nude will foster a better image for everyone.... take care.... Mark in burbank, ca
